I have either Lupus or RA. I am waiting for the final results on more blood work and will find out on September 6th what I have. The past two years, between my mental illnesses and my physical issues, I cannot fathom how to work or handle a job. I am in near constant pain. I have constant fatigue. I want to work and find it so frustrating that I can't, and it ends in tears more than I'd like to admit.
I worked for two years in retail, and 5 months as a temp in a different retail store. This is where my question is coming from. Since I have minimal work experience (jobs I had to leave due to my illnesses), would I even qualify for disability aid? I am allergic to the sun, my joints are in constant pain and swollen, I can sleep all day if I am allowed and still feel tired. How am I meant to work like this? It scares me to death. I had to leave school because of it, too. I am 23, and I am terrified that if I apply they are just going to give me an automatic "no" even though I will have doctors notes, etc.

There are a couple disability aid types; Social Security (SSDI) for those who have worked and SSI (Supplemental Security) if you haven't worked enough; you can apply once and they'll means test you for either/both.

Thank you! I honestly did not know there were two different types.
