(im 23 on disability and was planning on doing that and using diability money to live on my own) ill need them. can i reapply at another time when i get records from my first rent bill and utility bill? when i get my first records of them can i show them if i reapply?

Yes, you should be able to reapply. If you really feel like you need them, I encourage you to reapply later.

I get food stamps and am on Medi/Medi living in California. I'm below the poverty level so I get food stamps.

thats good. i got accepted for disability easy. with no laywer. and in two months. and obviously medicare comes. but i found out medicare doesnt cover dental and vision and some other weird stuff so i wanted to go apply for medicaid. and then i wanted to move for oppurtunistic reasons from my dads house but i cant with all my finances. im waiting for the list for section 8 too but it may be too long for me to wait.
edit// yea they said i was 135% below federal poverty limit or something. i get full subsidy for medicare so thats good. __________________ "We're all born to broken people on their most honest day of living"

The SNAP program takes into account those included in your household, not just your income. That could be a reason you were not approved.
There is also a formula that factors in rental and utility costs as well as transportation and medical costs and does or does not grant a standard deduction from your gross income to count toward the total against approval or denial. It is not a terribly complex calculation but there are a few variables. It can vary state to state and often the actual formula will be available somewhere on the DHS state website. |

I know this is off topic, but how did you get disability without a lawyer if I can ask? I feel like I am going to need a lawyer and I am not looking forward to it.

i am under their special rule of "Disabled Adult Child Before Age 22" ive had a very long documented history of mental illness since i was 12. but the dx im filed under has been documented consistently since 17. im 23 now. ive heard its different state to state even area to area. but im near a big tx city. which isnt an easy one. (not that was or is or should be or was even expected). i expected to wait 6 months or even have to appeal. but since my history was long AND documented i got it in 2 1/2 months to be exact. first try. no laywer. immediately when i got out of hospital too is when i put my application. my father helped me. he got it started while i was still in hospital. i took my med list to them which was long at that time (not that i wanted it to be hah or that it needs too but i heard that they take medication and type of medication into account of disability). but i didnt have a doctor at the time i applied which was at age 21. i think they took into acct maybe that i just got out of hospital too. __________________ "We're all born to broken people on their most honest day of living"
