What do you do when people ask where you are working and such? It is hard for me to explain to them that I don't and I never ever wanna explain why!

I would just say that I'm not employed at this time. If they push for a reason, ask them why they need to know. That will usually quiet them down. If it doesn't, then you can just smile at them and say nothing more. It's no one's business why you are or aren't working.
