I am feeling scared. Maybe somebody knows what the deal is. I went to get my flu shot today, and the lady at the pharmacy said that Medicare B is "down." When I asked her what she meant, she said they are not processing claims right now. Thank goodness I have Blue Cross as a supplement, and they agreed to pay.
I don't think flu shots are all that expensive, but what if I had gone to another medical place where they check on insurance before doing anything medically? Has anyone else had this problem? |

You use to have the choice to buy Medicare Part B but now, with the ACA, since you have to have "insurance" they don't need Part B anymore (unless you are over 65). I have a State insurance (Blue Cross) and it will be going away by this June and I will have to buy my Blue Cross straight out, as there's no point in the State "mandating" Blue Cross cover me even though I had a pre-existing/non-insurable condition (I'm obese) since that problem has gone away. I don't know when/why you got Blue Cross (usually people on disability turned down Part B because they had another insurance through a loved-one's employment or something). If you had both at once, only one would pay but you'd be paying premiums twice/for both.
