I found out this week that due to the ACA, the disability insurance (worker compensation) no longer allows the pharmacy to fill medical supplies prescriptions, but only medicines. Now the WC program has never authorized more than one medical supply/pharmacy at a time. So now I have to spend my own money, buy the prescribed medical supply and then wait to be reimbursed...which may never happen. (They usually wait till they owe me $10,000 and then mediate to bargain with me about how much of my money I get back.) I just don't have those resources any more, which means exactly what they want: I can't buy what the doctors say I need and they don't have to pay nor reimburse for it.
can't wait for this to end. __________________ |

I'm sorry but I am not familiar with the ACA or WC. Are they thru a past employer, state, or fed government? I wonder if you could hire a disability atty to state that you're unable to stay on your meds when you have to wait until your thousands of $ behind. I don't see how anyone making under a 6 figure income could ever manage this system. I'm on ssdi and medicare thru my disability. Before my medicare kicked in I was spending about $1k a month on meds not including therapy and pdoc. I would try working with a lawyer at this point. Also, many psych meds offer payment assistance for lower incomes.
