Yep, decided to reach out for some help. I called to see how much an evaluation would cost and a counseling session... $2500.00! How can I ever afford that? I don't know what to do at this point... I need help.

If you don't have insurance it makes it tough. I know because I've been fighting that battle for about a year now. Check with you could health department and see if they have some options for free or sliding fee based counseling.

Hi. That's awful! I live in the south where it's about $300-500. I agree with Gayleggg, and I know ppl who go to the free clinic for psych meds. Don't let this stop you from reaching out for alternatives

I'm in the same boat. "Help" is expensive and insurance is expensive too. In a market where jobs are difficult to find, things become all the more impossible.

Do you have a community health program? Or you could try Lutheran Family Services, Catholic Family Services. I have been to all of these and they use a sliding scale (a realistic one).
