I had an inheritence and I didn:'t declare it because I never thought about it, was too busy doing my house up and dishing money out to so called friends and 33,000 pounds disappeared in 4 months. Am I totally screwed

Hello, Candy47, and welcome to Psych Central! I am from the U.S., and I think over here it would depend on whether the government found out about it.

Maybe if they were told, then you could lose benefits for awhile? I'd be tempted to be sneaky and call the government office, telling this story but not saying it was you. I don't know if that would work or not, though.
