If she makes an exception for you, does she not have to make an exception for any others?

Overcoming the hurt, and recognition of it not being personal, but business angled, is about overcoming that fight response, does it not?

You've written, if she has a signed contract, she'd continue to treat you?

According to Marsha Linehans CBT for Borderline Personality Disorder, she mentioned that vindictiveness is not part of the illness. I can quote the page, given time to breeze through it..

Maybe I'm just an evil person then. Because when I feel wronged-really wronged/hurt, I lash out- just once. Swift and deep. I could really hurt her career. For me its always been a part of the BPD splitting-being good or bad, and if you're bad then I can do my worst. I'm more cognizant these days of when its happening so I can stop myself from doing it, but...

I think she has "stumbled" a bit along the way these past two years. Any report I make would be 100 percent truthful-and yet it would still be very likely to result in her suspension or revocation of her license. She told me when we started that borderlines make the most complaints against therapists, and there are all sorts of articles agreeing with that stance.

My favorite was, "youre one borderline away from losing your license."

Truer words never spoken. Treating a borderline is like playing with fire.

I would rather not fan the flames of bad feelings. If we end, we need to do so on amicable terms, or my wrath is going to (inevitably) bubble over. I want to try to explain this to her, but I'm afraid she's going to take it the wrong way.

I guess theres not a lot of ways to take, "if we don't end with no hard feelings I'm going to report you," though... :-X

No, she doesn't have to apply exceptions to everyone- that's why its an "exception" to the rule.

Yes, she will continue to see me (tentatively, depending on the terms of the new contract), but they are taking a long time and keep promising a call from contracts, but no one has called yet. Plus they'll still be paying her $35 less than her asking fee and that bothers her, too, but its been roughly the same rate for the past 24 months.

She's pissed with them for terminating her contract with no notice and says shes hesitant to sign anything/work with them again b/c she doesn't like how they treated her, and no one is calling her to explain things or offer a new contract etc..

And because of this, you'd unleashed wrath?

No. Not because of this.

Because of what came before and because of the way she handled it/is hanndling it.

No, there isn't a good way, to say, if you don't do things my way, under my terms, so I feel it's under my interpretation of amicable, then boy oh boy, have I got a wrap sheet, with documented evidence so if I feel slighted, you lose your livelihood. ..

Yeah, i get splitting, but, um...

Unfortunately....yeah, it kinda is like that. Yes, it's bad and wrong and evil and I'll probably really regret it like I've regretted nothing else in my life...but I'll probably do it anyway. If we part ways angry.

Best to reconcile now so it doesn't come to that, so I don't do this in a fit of rage later. I'll just...try to make peace. I won't tell her why its important to me.

Is that better?

Also, tho...I have a friend who is an MFT...she's listened to a number of sessions and wanted to report my T herself, the only reason she didn't is bc I asked her not to.

So I'm not making stuff up, maybe she does need to be censured. I didn't force her to do things that would get her into trouble with the licensing board.

It's not wrong or evil. It's blackmail and manipulation.

Is what better?

You know what, yes, it is better. Know how people sometimes look back and reflect on what they could have done differently?

That, becoming a psychologist was once a dream of mine.

I can see, how, something like this could have happened to me.

My life would have been ruined.

Standing at the crossroads, i see why it wasn't in my cards.

Wish you well.

You posted that, she stated she cannot treat you because of the insurance issue.
You posted you have things on her, to report and with that have her license revoked, I'm under the impression audio recordings?

What constitutes amicable, if insurance and money reasons aren't good enough?

I'm pretty sure that your attempts to get her in trouble will fail miserably, so you can either continue to pursue this petty attempt to cause her harm, or ...

You can quit wasting your time with all this fruitless nonsense and find another therapist who does accept your insurance and offers treatment for your particular diagnosis and issues.

It's your healing & recovery process, and the choice is yours!

It does stink to be in your predicament. You are specifying a need and desire for therapy, and though this thread, you've had difficulty finding a treatment provider. That's not fair, to someone who is willing to seek treatment.

Just wanted to point out, where your illness, is getting in the way of this particular struggle.

Is she able to refer you to anyone, at all, who will take your insurance coverage? As a courtesy to you?
Just my opinion, I wouldn't want PresentT referring her...PresentT is angry...and probably doesn't have a lot of good things to say about her.

My experience, is that lists of names are given. Perhaps, i chose the wrong word? Recommend v. Refer?
How'd you see angry in the transcript, out of curiosity?

im pretty sure the Board in your state wont revoke or suspend her license just because ur a disgruntled client. reporting a therapist should be reserved for ethical violations. just because ur mad at ur T for being up front with u and honest doesnt constitute a report. they will probably look into it and get your Ts side of the story and find nothing to take action on. obviously ur just doing this to be spiteful and to hurt her like u feel she has hurt u.

my reporting her, if i chose to go that route, would have nothing to do with being terminated for insurance reasons, and everything to do with the numerous ethical violations shes committed. and yes she absolutely would be in major trouble if i were to disclose those things.

however, at this point, I am not interested in reporting her for anything. im just saying if i wanted to i definitely have grounds.
