I hate that word "shortly". I equate it to "eventually" which most often means something almost to never!!

It totally sucks waiting but you're almost there. Distract yourself with other stuff in the meantime.

I have been good at not thinking about it,I hope it won't be bad news.I did get a letter from the assessment company after I complained about the latest assessment. They concede that the evidence shows that I probably can only walk up to 50 metres and no further, which will get me 10 points, enough for an award of standard rate mobility. They have informed the DWP of this.I also scored 11 points for daily care so again standard rate.I am expecting to get standard rate for both ,same money as I had for DLA ,so can't think what is the delay in letting me know this.Unless they are considering giving me enhanced rates.I don't know.I am expecting to hear something by September which kicks in on Saturday so anytime after Saturday I expect a letter.I will give it another 7 days after that and phone them again. On 12 September they will owe me three months money backpay.

So they told me today over the phone,it's good news,I have been awarded PIP at standard rates for both mobility and care, until 2022,which means another assessment June 2021.
I am to expect a large amount in back payments into my bank account on Monday! So the letter writing sending in complaints and pointing out the errors in the assessment reports paid off.I was so worried and am so relieved now. Thanks to all of you here who have supported me.It was a learning curve but I know what to do now and who to turn to next time and I will be a lot less worried next time knowing there is help and the possibility of appeal. |

Hi Marylin I've just come to this thread. You're really been through hell. I'm so glad it's resolved in your favor. I've had many a fight with some social service agencies also. Congrats on your victory!
