Today we got the call that the judge awarded my husband SSI after being denied the first time, but without having to go to the hearing. As I said in my earlier thread, they just reciently switched me to Medicaid/Medicare duel eligible but not getting SSDI checks because of my former work status. I have some questions.

When my husband gets SSI, I know the max amount we can get together a month is 1125. But will they try to duel enrolled him into Medicare and Medicaid also because if my work history and I'm married to him?

In a case such as this, how quickly would he probably see first check/backpay? (My caseworker said they do SSI pretty quick, maybe even starting next month)

Both my hubby and my brother started getting their checks the month after they were approved. Hubby got his backpay in two checks one he got about 3 weeks after being approved the other was about a month after that. My brother got his all in one check about 2-3 weeks after being approved.

As far as your question about medicaid/medicare we were told they aren't eligible for medicare because they get SSI not SSDI. They have to wait until they turn 60 something to get medicare. But that could vary by state I don't know.
