I had some finds at a thrift store and was given half off in the box furniture. Well it seemed like a great idea at the time. Easy to haul to my apartment shouldn't be too hard to put together. I've built furniture before. It was easy at first, but than i messed up a couple things now I'm tired and its not done. Frustrated. Wish it was completed but back at mom's for the night.

Got tv stand together, finally. Put together desk, missing a piece have to check out hardware store to finish it up. Bookshelf left. Wrist so sore.

Desks can be really hard to put together! I had one, a long time ago, that I had put together myself (and I was *so* proud of that!) I used it for YEARS.

One day, the boyfriend was staring at it... and I asked what was going on.

Apparently, he had just noticed that I put the hinge (for a cabinet-type door) on totally inside out (?). Like, completely wrong. Somehow, the thing worked. I'm still not sure what was wrong, as I don't have very good spatial skills... it bugged him though, so he fixed it.

Good luck getting all your stuff together and working! Hope you find the parts you need and the rest goes smoothly!

I know the feeling. My husband and I moved recently and most of the furniture we bought for the new place, as well as the grill, needed assembly. It can be really frustrating, especially when the drawings/instructions are confusing, which is common. The grill's instructions said: estimated assembly time 15-20 minutes. Who were they kiddding? It took about 2 hours. We put two of the legs on backwards at first, but even without that, it still would have taken probably an hour and 45 minutes. We definitely had some sore muscles after some of the assembly projects, lots of bending and crouching to install parts.

It sounds like it's all starting to come together, though. Hang in there!

I can relate.

I've recently assembled a bed frame, and a chair and ottoman. The bed was the easiest because all the parts were properly labelled and the holes lined up. The chair however - parts were mislabelled, and the spot where the chair arms attached to the seat didn't have holes pre drilled. That would ok, if I had a drill, but I was just working with an allen key.

Good luck on finishing it up. You can be really proud of yourself for getting it done.

What kind of bed frame did you assemble? I am looking at the traditional style that take box springs/foundation, and the newer kind that have some sort of support for a mattress by itself. I want something that won't collapse under me the first time I lie down on it!

There are people who will do this. Google it for your area,look onCraigslist or go on TaskRabbit or another website like that. Yes,it’s such a pain!

I have been there a couple of times. The first time I put a desk together was this year. It took me about two hours to figure out what an "allen wrench" is. I thought the thing was a part of a tool that had broken and I kept trying to fix it with tape. The frustration


Took about 3 hours, but I finally got the desk put together and wow, yes...I was so proud. The good part was that the next item I put together (a cat tree) was so much easier because I had learned the tricks to the whole assembly game.

It was a queen sized bed frame, with head and foot board, and slats across the width of the bed. It's designed to hold a box spring and mattress. I got it on-line from Walmart, and it wasn't that expensive. I don't remember exactly what I paid, but it was under 200 as it was on sale.
