I'm really frustrated with the incompetence of my therapist, regarding my plea for help to get documentation surrounding my unemployment, to keep my benefits.
I have zero insurance, and so far nothing from Job and Family services in the works of getting Medicaid or Food Stamps. So finding another therapist isn't happening with no insurance or sufficient income to pay. Luckily the Bach Flower essences have been helping my anxiety, so that's no longer a factor. I'm super annoyed though (which is a relief in comparison to PTSD rage and Anxiety "fight or fly" freakouts) I need a flippin hug ![]() |

Here's my advice (based upon a lot of experience): don't wait for the county to contact you. Go into the office and tell them you HAVE to get signed up for Medicaid and food stamps. It's a true squeaky wheel thing. I know how hard it is, but you have to be almost aggressive and advocate for yourself.
Good luck!

I second the advice. If you don't want to drive to your DHS county office. You can actually apply online for all 4 of these things:
County DHS website: *SNAP food stamps *Medical Assistance *Emergency Assistance You can also print out the application and fax or mail it in. UI: Unemployment Benefits. You have to do the application online, unfortunately. -You have to provide the previous year's work history of yourself with the name of each employer so that UI can contact each one to verify your employment. This takes a bit. It can take up to 3 weeks for them to review and contact your previous employers before they will determine your weekly unemployment benefit amount. If you need help with these applications, that would be the reason to go to your DHS county office in person to do an in-person interview with a county worker. The county worker will ask you for your information and will fill out the online application or paper application with you there in person. |

In Cincinnati Gov't assistance is offline. They've been getting complaints about the online process not working since 2017. Calling about the Error 404 does nothing; they just tell you to come in.
If I can get Vocational Rehabilitation to send more bus cards, I'll go. However, it's not work related, so I doubt they'll give me bus card to get to social services offices. I was already receiving unemployment checks. However, the employer that fired me, requested an appeal on the decision to pay out benefits. So, they aren't asking for work history at all. They want to know how my termination requires I be paid, instead of it being "just cause". This is what I needed my therapist for to back my claim regarding being under distress, because we discussed it in our sessions long before I got fired. My case worker just told me, the reason she's being a douche, is because she almost got herself fired. So instead of terminating her, they just transferred her out to another facility. Tuesday was her last day, and she wasn't helpful at all. She wasn't even trying to do her job. |
