Long story short, skipping every reason how this happened, a promotional balance ended today. Only owed about 600 dollars and now the balance is up to 3275. Saw that it ended 28 minutes after it ended.
I hurried and Paid what was owed, but I guess it’s too late Promotion ended 10/29/30. Still that date right now, but I guess it’s based on EST or 8pm or what? Is there any wiggle room? Finally was paying off the account and now it’s up 2/3 of where it started? Now it’s another long stretch of $230 minimum payments. I’m so upset. My uncle just died Saturday, very suddenly. He was dead one week after finding out he has cancer. My teen son was inpatient for a week last month. I’ve been working and I should have been home grieving this week and taking care of business and apparently paying Off this promotional balance off. I’m so upset with myself. I’ll never get ahead. This was such a stupid thing and 30 minutes too late. I just don’t even know anymore. Why is life so expensive and hard. My son had the most expensive braces in the world I guess. I don’t know if would be this frustrated and unhappy about this if my uncle hadn’t just suddenly died? Actually I might be really numb about this? I think I’m in shock. Just racked up 3700 dollars in debt just today total since we just got tires on the van and new drums today. Last edited by Cardooney; Oct 30, 2020 at 01:55 AM.. Reason: Add trigger |

I sent a begging email to synchrony asking them to take my payment and reverse the interest.
They’ll probably say that unfortunately there is nothing they can do cause it’s run by robots and I’m an idiot. Why did I just do the equivalent of setting almost 2700 dollars on fire? I didn’t even know it was a deferred interest account! My husband signed up for it to get our son braces and didn’t even clear it with me. And I’ve been doing the remembering to pay it and dealing with the account ever since. |

I would also call the number on the back of the credit card and speak to a representative. Explain your situation and how a family death caused you to forget the deadline by minutes and can they PLEASE remove the interest, and you paid the balance.
I would guess that, if this just happened very recently, they will. I’ve called them so many times, when I’ve let a payment go over deadline and got them to remove an interest charge. __________________ "And don't say it hasn't been a little slice of heaven, 'cause it hasn't!" . About Me--T |

It can't hurt to call and ask. I haven't had a charge that large reversed, but was able to get late charges removed a few times with a phone call. You never know if you don't try.
My condolences for the loss of your uncle. |

Thanks for the support. They dropped the interest and the account is paid off. What a relief.
I was in bad shape about this last night! |
