HI @Jackson99 - welcome to MSF My Support Forums. I am not an expert on Medicare, but as I understand it, Part A pays 80% of hospital costs and there may be a deductible, not sure. More info here and here

What really helps is to have gap insurance which many providers offer to pay the last 20% that Medicare does not cover. There also are usually deductibles that you would pay. Check with an insurer or their website.

Check in your state. In MA Tufts offers free gap insurance to MA residents for no additional fee than the monthly medicare fee.

You also may want to contact the hospitals and doctors you use and ask them if they accept Medicare patients.

The state I live in also has a website to help people pick Medicare plans.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

Some places accept what Medicare pays as the full payment. My clinic does that. I didn’t find that out till after the fact though. I lucked out.

I've been hospitalized 28 times and I never had to pay anything for my stays. And I've always applied for financial assistance from the institutions (because I receive SSDI). I think there is a maximum number of inpatient lifetime days for Medicare but not sure what that is. I don't think I've reached that even though I'm usually inpatient 4 times a year or so.
