I have boxes in mind from Amazon cause they have dish boxes, wardrobe boxes etc. it makes packing easier. In total it's around 140 for all my bought supplies. Yes I know free boxes from grocery and liquor store, but I've gone the bought box route before and it was great!

I'm moving June 1st movers won't help pack, very anxiety inducing for me. I don't want to live around a bunch of boxes and am debating about moving the boxes to my garage.

I can't order said boxes til the 3rd. Get them a few days later. I have closets full of stuff. My brother is having a garage sale on the weekend of the 18th. I have to downsize my furniture, but I'm not exactly sure cause I've only seen the place once what to get rid of. Though I have a good idea, and I have a floor plan sheet. I love my stuff, this is hard, but I wanted a change.

So where do I begin? And how much do I pack? The kitchen is last minute, minus the appliances I don't use. I know where to start with books and linen closet.

I'm not overwhelmed just a bit perplexed. I'm not a procrastinator and I'll likely be packed in a week. Unpacking is stressing me out actually, but packing is the easy part. just where to put the packed stuff till moving day is the problem.

I kind of answered one of my questions by typing it out. A week, might allow two though.

Well onward and upward.

Hi @Aviza - moving can be a big chore. The first thing I do when I am about to move a month or two before is start to make lists of things I absolutely need. I also start to throw things out that I have been saving just in case. I usually never need those.

I like to have all the stuff that I absolutely want packed and labeled or if I have to use it get the boxes and packing ready. I collect newspapers and those seem to work for short moves but longer moves may want bubble wrap.

do NOT use packing peanuts unless you absolutely have to. They are a pain they get over everything. Good luck @CANDC

I think you’ve answered all your questions so I just want to say all the best with the move. Moves can be quite stressful, living around or in and out of boxes so yeah, just be kind to yourself.

Do you have to clean your place as well?

I used newspaper for packing breakables this time, I think I lost one wine glass and one mug (handle) which both broke.
But other than that everything was good.

We rented a storage unit and placed everything we didn’t need at the moment and could live without. Like winter clothes in a summer etc So when it was time to move it wasn’t overwhelming. Then we gradually brought stuff from storage into a new house

Guess what the apt didn't send the forms to section 8, without their approval I can't move. So I retracted my notice to vacate, my apt let me thank God. I've made calls to find out why it's still not sent been 4 weeks. I'm still looking may have to file an extension on the section 8 voucher. I'll give it a few days before cancelling the whole move but not looking good.
