So my bank balance is zero and it looks like we'll be living on credit for another month (aside from my husband's tiny disability pension) because my former employer just advised me I won't get my funds until the end of November, meaning 3 months after I left the company. Yes, this is legal because it's my pension fund but so frustrating and anxiety-inducing. They said they will call me back within 2 business days to verify that all my paperwork was in order. Ugh My friend and co-worker who left got hers within 6 weeks but that was a few years ago. What is it about the modern world that businesses now short-change you in every way they can (and yes hanging onto your money for longer periods is a way of them grabbing more).
