Our ACT (Assertive Community Treatment, where you have a team of a therapist peer support case manager psychiatrist, etc., not the other therapy I can't remember) team doesn't have an eating disorder specialist and I really need one right now (I mean I might be moving out of region soon but let's assumee I'm staying).
My insurance won't pay for me to see two therapists. I really like this therapist and I'm court ordered to be with the ACT team so I think I'm stuck with her. Do I have any options? I really want to be in some sort of eating disorder treatment that isn't IP or residential. __________________ [Insert thought-provoking and comedic quote here] |

Not sure where you are, the US maybe? but here therapists aren't covered by provincial healthcare at all unless they;re a psychiatrist, or through a hospital or something like an ACT team.
Private therapy can be incredibly expensive unless you can find someone who can do sliding scale. As for finding a therapist, I'd start with talking to my family Dr. or the ACT team to see if they could recommend anybody. __________________  "I danced in the morning when the world was begun. Can you ask your team? Seems like they should be able to find a specialist that you do need.

I asked my therapist about getting more support for my ed and she's like "there's this place in Bedford, let me look it up....oh it's closed."
