I have received Housing Assistance for about 9 years. My worker that I've had for the last 7 years decided to switch my case to the county that I live in. I've worked on and off over the years. Most recently, I was unemployed for almost a year until I got a job in July 2023. I reported my income, and my portion remained $117/month. I asked again if this was the correct amount and was told yes it is. I bought a car, owe some money on it still, and was put in the risk pool for insurance due to being uninsured for 6 months. Very expensive. I got another worker for some reason, and I started a new job in Dec 2023 for less money. ( I was being harassed at work, long story) I submit my new income, and my new worker tells me they never budgeted my previous job, and my portion of the rent will now be $791/month. My case is under review. I can not afford this much rent with a car and insurance payment. I am looking for a better paying job. However, I feel like my MI is becoming episodic again.
