So I wanted to have something that celebrates who we are as transgender people. I believe we have a lot to offer this world in a good way. What are some things that makes you proud to be you?

My identity makes me very open and accepting! And I think that's true for almost all of us! Being that we face so much adversity, we are sympathetic and open to the plights of others.
I am proud to say I have educated a few people, and knocked some snobs off their high horse. I am confident and angry. I don't tolerate ignorance, but I am understanding of illiteracy in the transgender issues. I have become strong enough to cry. __________________ Demiboy They/them/their Never compromise your identity for someone else. |

Hm-m-m-m-m... Only one reply to this post. Either everyone's gone on vacation or this does not bode well for our self-concepts. I know, personally, I looked at this post once before & decided I had nothing to contribute. There must be SOMETHING about me I could celebrate. But I still can't seem to think of anything. Well, I'll keep thinking & maybe something will come to mind.

Yeah I wondered if this might be challenging for some folks. I should probably respond myself. I get the chance to redefine what it mean to be a man and add things to the plate that most people wouldn't think of right off the bat. Having been socialized female there are some virtues that I learned and have been pushed on me that I don't want to let go simply because I'm actually a man. Things like mercy and gentleness and graciousness. I'm more open than I would have been to diversity of humanity. I'm very accepting to people and even want people to just be allowed to be themselves in whatever form that might take. On one hand I hate being trans and what this means, but looking at things like this, I wouldn't trade it simply for an easier life - I have a fuller life because of it.
