My partner started transitioning (ftm) a couple years ago. We were together for years before then in a lesbian relationship. When he first started transitioning I looked everywhere to find some kind support for myself only to find that it didnÂ’t really exist. It wasnÂ’t that I didnÂ’t fully support my partner in his decision but that I thought it would be helpful to talk to someone who was going through the same thing. Has anyone else been with a partner through their transition? If so what has your experience been like?

Another possible resource for you would be Susan's Place. There is a forum on Susan's Place specifically for spouses & partners of people who are transitioning ("Significant Others Talk"). Here's a link:

Thanks for the info. I just realized it says this forum is only for transgender non-binary or questioning people, so I guess I need to get out of here. Once again I find myself where I don’t belong.

If you're dealing with trans issues, even with a family member, then this seems like the right place for you.
