This subject is a little embarrassing for me but here goes.

I have always had trouble climaxing (most likely due to my general anxiety) but after starting an SSRI it's near impossible!

I recently have been seeing a girl who I am utterly crazy about and she doesn't really know much about my medical situation and for the time being I would like to keep it that way.

I'm worried she might think it has something to do with her!
Even if I explain why I'm having trouble I think it would still hurt her self esteem.

Is there anything I can do? a supplement maybe?

My wife still makes an issue of it. She will always think its about her even though it's the SSRI. Logic and women don't mix. So I think Gundown has a legitimate concern.

I had the exact problem and, as per your concern, my wife thought it was about her even though it was the SSRI. I tried about 5 different ones before settling on venlafaxine. It's an SSNRI and a rather nasty one, but I'll be on it my whole life and I can actually climax again.

My suggestion would be to consider looking into different medications. One SSRI can cause anorgasmia in you while another won't. The trick will be finding the right one.

I didn't think the fact I take an SSRI will hurt her self-esteem. I think the fact I can't climax will!

If a girl told me they simply couldn't climax I would think it had something to do with me even if It was for a medical reason.

I also don't want to tell her about my SSRI as it's a new relationship and I don't want to scary her with the big ball of crazy that it me.

I went to my doctor and explained the trouble I was having.
My meds were changed to a different AD which was not an SSRI. I can't remember what it was called.

Anyway, It worked. My anorgasmia was cured but It did nothing for me depression! Nothing at all, as I was going though a bit of a rough patch I asked my doctor to change me back to an SSRI.

My ADs aren't working great for me right now so I'm going to go to my doctor to explain all the problems im having in detail but until then I stuck with the SSRI.

Until that happens is there any thing I can do to treat the anorgasmia?

Mmmm ... well, there are a few things you can try.

Fluffing. Try working yourself up several times during the day ... uh ... manually. That can help get you started.

Do what it is that really gets you in the mood. The more excited you stay during the day, the more likely you are to have a climax.

I have heard, but never tried ... I should though ... that a Ziplok bag of petroleum jelly taped around your junk and worn during the day heightens your sensitivity. I'm not sure how that works without leaving a nasty mess though.

Those would help me although I still had a considerable amount of trouble until they found the right AD.

Wellbutrin is an ndri or dnri? that's supposed to have no negative sexual side effects. Of course for me, it killed my libido. Everything functions nearly normally but I just don't get aroused. I say nearly because I did have a weak ejaculation (along with weak urine stream). But I don't know if it is related to the wb. Anyway, I've been told my experience is not the norm. Most people have no issues or actually have increased sex drive.

I don't know if my medications are the cause.
But I have trouble climaxing myself.
I used to have the opposite problem when I was unmedicated and dealt with hypersexuality.

I've told my psychiatrist about these problems. And he's utterly useless.
