approx three weeks ago and for some time prior to that, my cousin was raped, amongst other things. a trial is upcoming.
maybe its just something when it hits this close to home. i'm angry, i'm depressed. sometimes a lost world. but something tells me to keep smiling. and so i try. |

Something like 3/4 girls and 3/5 is sexually abused in this country. It is hard when it happens in your own family. Of course you're going to feel many many things like anger and depression, even hopelessness. Was the rapist in the family, or not related? I'm sure the child's parents (if they're not the abusers) need a lot of support too. You'll get through this, but it's going to be rough. If your little cousin gets good therapy, they'll learn how to manage.

I appreciate your kind words and support "keys". I am continuing to process my situation as we speak. The depression lifts at times and then crashes down again. I believe I have the anger pretty much under sontrol. Thankksgiving will be an issue. I'm tempted to relax, smile, and enjoy the moment.

nowhere, I was sexually abused as a child and I want you to know that I wish I had someone like you offering support. I'm also glad to hear it's going to trial. Though it will be tough, I suspect it will help your cousin get closure later in life.

The save us stuff is more just a sig line (one from a wrestler: the avatar), the sig is my variation: save_us. drc (doctor c, as in doctor clyde--not a doc yet but will be--more a play on words)... Its horrible that anyone would be raped or abused.

nothing much new to report on the trial.. waiting for appearance dates... waiting to meet with social services re: my young cousins placement...
spent the day with her older brother yesterday... only 21, but the guy can still teach me things... there's reasons for everything... alot of things, but just one Reason... God... i have Faith... Peace to All |

the latest news is that her paternal grandparents have arrived from Russia... he is employed by the state dept., (other details are top secret) ... so there is a chance my cousin will be staying with them now..
this family is so resilient... the girls mother has the strength of 10 lions... |

the paternal grandparents received custody ... they will return to Russia when the papers go thriugh but it might be some time still... meanwhile, the daughter (rape victim) is living with relatives approx 60 miles away... she's in good hands...
the mother is charged with two misdeameanors of child abuse .. i'm hoping she receives a light sentence and a good lesson... she was offered and rejected a plea bargain, i think she intends to take her case to jury... no news on the male accised of the molestations... out on bail last i heard... one little girl will be absent this Christmas.... no blue eyes, no pouty face, no dance and sing... |

whats been hardest through this, besides the affect on the daughter, is the non-communications between myself and the mother...
i see her at the grocery store where she bags groceries when i shop there.... she looks tired, stessed... i dont know how she manages... she wont let us do much for her, independent as hell... i try to help, but, her mind becomes frazzled and mixed with thoughts from many places at once... my heart feels such pain for her conflict... on the other hand, communication and my mom has improved thru this... it brought us closer together.... she made promises to the mom's mm... my mom's cousin.... to care for the kids after the cancer took her from us... then, in the following turmoil, the daughters dad drank some rum, did some coke, and smacked the little girls mothers face purple... so, he went to jail.. subsequently skidded out of town.... long story there... the little one lost gramma nd dad pretty close to each other... then this.... |
