Hello, I'm new here. My wife is divorcing me because of my ED. I didn't know about it when we got married and it's been a problem from the beginning. My counsellor suggested alternate ways of pleasing each other but she has no interest in that. She became extremely depressed and reclusive and hostile. She doesn't want couples counseling. No matter what I try, she just wants out. Now I have these divorce papers that I haven't had the heart to sign.
It's so sad, because otherwise, I thought the marriage was good. It only lasted two years but I loved being with her and I still love her. |

I'm sorry you're going through this. Of course it's just my personal thinking; but I'd have to say it sounds to me as though there's more to this (on your wife's part) than your ED. I have to wonder if she wasn't happy in the marriage for other reasons as well and perhaps your ED was either the last straw, so to speak, or perhaps a convenient rationale. Under any circumstances, I hope you will be able to work your way through this sadness to a brighter tomorrow. Best wishes...

There was a lot of depression involved on her part, due to certain events that happened over the past year. She went through a lot, and I am sure she still is. I wish I could help her, and she could help me, too. I wish we had worked together on this but she just wanted a divorce.

This must be a tough time for you. If she is saying that this is the reason she's divorcing you, then she is just not worth it. You can be better off with someone that can support you and figure out an alternative. It would be nice if you can help her with her depression....but that's her choice and it doesn't excuse her reasoning.
