Basic summary

Ended up in hospital Friday (currently Monday) was told I have 5mm kidney stone. Given pain medication and discharged. Seeing a urologist Wednesday. Still in intense pain even with med. Drinking lots of water. Didn't pass stone yet. Looking for others to help explain the process or help dealing with pain. Is it possible to drink too much water? How long does it take to pass? If the stone is in the ureter, why does it hurt around my left kidney, when my right kidney is where it came from?
