so i went up into the mountains the other day for a drive, clear my head, look at the view.. found a cherry spot and decided to re-angle myself so it was perfect................. oops...

down in a hole with the back of the truck... tweaked the frame cause the doors got stuck... not badly tho..

i wondered how to fix it like guys do sometimes....

called some friends and imagined the look of amusement on the recreation areas on duty officers face when she saw me like that...

dumbo me...

then, out of nowhere, a guy in a jeep appeared... had his girl in the car too and they pulled over... i was being witness to something great! ... getting help without even asking, wow!

the guy said he only pulled over to take a whiz and asked if he could do it by my truck there... i was laughing inside so hard but he was a straight up guy and i knew he was going to help... while he did his business there i connected the rope i had in the truck to my front end (very securely) and he came around and we attached it to his bumper...

the truck weighs a good ton and more and i said i hoped i didnt rip his bumper off.. he just smiled... prolly a Jeep thing haha...

it was like magic, one tug..... i was out unharmed, truck unharmed, Jeep guy looked cool for the girl, spit out some chew and smiled a little... i felt like a man had shown up and been pretty darn decent.... it was great

Awesome. Yeah, if you've got a vehicle that can do that kind of thing, you're probably just DYING to show it off! Especially with the GF handy...

Yep, I bet you're right! Some people say women are attracted to jerks. I don't think that is a fair generalization, at all. Lots of women like the good guys.

On a related note... One time I was turning my car around on a country road and backed over the edge into a ditch, and got stuck. (The car didn't have much ground clearance... )

I wish your guy had been on hand then...a lot of people drove by and didn't do anything. Eventually I got unstuck with some back-and-forth and coaxing. Sure made a bad sound as it scraped its way back onto the asphalt! (I'm pretty sure it was just the trim, though, not the differential or anything...)

thats what one of my overwhelming fears always was Slothrop, that i'd break down somewhere and wouldnt have the help, tools, or money available to get myself unstuck... maybe it goes back to when i was just learning to drive.. oh, man, memories... but anyway, getting stuck taught me some things.... cars are heavy! and tows are expensive and sometimes we all need help.... thanks for the good vibes..... good people make all the difference
