Hi, BPD just discarded by NPD. I discard him sometimes too. 4th cycle. He is now on silent treatment with me. I usually charm him into coming back. We are usually in constant contact 100s of messages everyday. He loves the attention. My question is will he come back on his own if I don't contact him?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

Probably. Most NPDs can't stand being ignored by their S.O.

I've read a lot about narcissism, after dealing with an abusive boss. My understanding is that they usually do come back -- but the length of time that it takes for this to happen gets longer each time the cycle repeats.

I've also always read that it depends what's going on in the narcissist's life, too, i.e. if they have secured a replacement form of supply yet or have been discarded by another source of supply and are looking for something to fill the void. Overall, I think the trend is for them to come back eventually or to try to make contact with you via a "hoover" or "flying monkey."
