I told my T i'd been doing it (not to the extent I have been - got a bald patch now) and he didn't seem to think it's that bad.
I pull out scalp hair and eyelashes but he just said trichotillemania (sorrry bad spelling!) and laughed, saying "I love that word". Is it not that serious then ? Confused! __________________ .

Ive also been biting a LOT of skin off my fingers for many years. Even the middle of my thumb. STILL no attention being paid to that. I didn't realise it was actually that serious. But I bite my nails A LOT.

It is serious. It is not something to be taken lightly.
Do you feel a need to do it? Do you feel you have to? Do you do it till it feels "right"? I think you need to either see someone else about this, or tell your doctor how bad it is for you and ask it to be looked at... |

To be honest, looking on it, I think it may be habits. I know it's kinda a strong habit to have a bald patch but I think that's all it is.

Okay, well, if it is just a habit, then you need to discover how to break that habit.
