Hi all-I have a problem with hoarding papers/magazines-right now I'm going through them and throwing away what I haven't looked at, don't want, etc.

This has caused some friction with my friend who I'm also obsessed with-I don't think I'll contact her because of the obsession-she's on vacation now and it's a busy time of year.

thoughts appreciated!

The way I see it is you only contact a person who is on holiday if its an emergency.

Well done on the clearing out !

i also have a problem with hoarding.... and like you it involves magazines, newspapers, i also keep empty boxes, you know like shoe boxes etc... cant bear the thought of throwing them away... i really dont know why.. even bags, you know the ones you get from a grocery store... and definitely wont throw a bag away that comes from a department store... can anyone explain to me why i am like this...

i do have ocd tendencies... as in order ocd... things have to be symmetrical etc.. which doesnt bother me... but the hoarding does get to me .. a lot.. and i cant stop doing it ggrrrr

I think it takes alot of courage to admit this, so good for you. This is a good time of year to tackle this problem. I was watching Oprah when they had this woman on and she had a severe problem. I've find if you watch those shows it will encourage you to tackle your problem. Best of luck.

Hey guys,

I too hoard but I hoard plastic shopping bags or bags for life that sort of thing.

Ocdchick- best leave your friend alone, s/he is on holiday. Think of all the things you can speak about when you next see your friend. I know what you mean about obsession with a friend I kinda do but I can control mines(Well I hope I control it)
