Ever since being diagnosed with ocd i have fallen in and out of the heap(depression ,ocd, depression, tendencies of self harming and the agony goes on but i noticed that every time i detach from my materials and its realm i feel better(rejuvinated) .i.e livin out of motel rooms with just a kettle and my essential clothes.(i acquire possesiions and i give them awy its my cleansing that has prooved this theory practical and true........)Maybe this isnt our natural way of living?????? Just throw me in the unexplored amazon jungle and let me live communal and harmoniously with the rest of the untouched civilisation....I dont imagine there is any OCD symptons in amongst that civilisation...Cheesed off with owning things but how else does one manage.....we are conditioned cos lets hypathetically say one third of the population conditions themselves to the realm of egotism and technology and progress and success we all have to follow suite and pay the price..??????this so called mod cons of this society like mobile cell phones and cars and ipods and the phallacies of technology...and so on has just become the tool of conforming to the rest of the so called blessed and we less fortunate ones have to conform..I remember getting my job through word of mouth....and i was less anxious in getting a reply cos i had no other form of being contacted than by mail (no cell phone then)but the other day i heard that a guy was drivin back from a job interview and crashed his vehicle being on his cell phone ecstatic that he got a job...MY Doctor...... had me ready to be hospitalised for not answering his calls and not attending his appointments for the last two fortnights cos i had my cell phone disconnected...thats my choice.Whats happened to the old fashioned letter or house call to see if im alive. Many years ago when i was discharged from hospital (funny farm) I went into a health kick and tryed to better my health by living organically......so I acquired some hens and a rooster for a better yield of eggs....I had the local councils of my district terrorise my backyard from a complaint from a neighbor who couldnt sleep cos the rooster kept him awake....,(so the poor bugger had to be destroyed).BUT this same disgrauntal neighbor would be the one who would get his lawn cut by professionals in the early hours of the morning and wake up the whole neighbor hood.........No im sorry patrons but i think that ocd being a genetic predosposition is only a part myth cos ive been on both sides of the border....I had a carreer once with steady income and still got sick....now no job, no defined house ,ocd/depresion but society makes me sick having to conform to authority like cops /docs...like Sir Winston Churchill said:"The true meaning of success is having to move through the damage that has been created...."

I'm gradually getting rid of more and more things; the older one gets the less one needs. I was repository aunt, hanging on to all the family stuff for nieces and nephews who don't want them so why keep them? I've sold a lot of them and gotten a little money. . .

sometimes I too feel the need to throw everything in the front yard that's in my house and burn it. well everything except my computer.
Also, I'm pretty sure ever civilization would have people with OCD. Most likely, they're probably told to "go take a walk in the forest." *wow, that was crude* My OCD has been acting up lately as well. Like last Saturday, when I went grocery shopping, and was there for 2 hours. Checking every sale by date, then digging to the back to get one that was better, then constantly rearranging the cart to make sure things were grouped together by category. I told my T this yesterday, and he told me I can only spend 10 secs looking at something, to decide if i'm going to buy it or not. Or I could go with my husband, because since he hates shopping, we kind of sprint through the store. |

Thanx for your repy QA,i guess what is crude is when biased and conditioned and almost thinkin were an invincible society like us invade these poor untouched innocent and real civilisation, of the amazon who are the elite in the high pecking order of humanity as they dont bother any one but are in tune with nature. We may have so called evolved and are still suffering in an advanced world but yet these people are continuing what there predecessors have done, it must work for them as they continue to to do so as they have for many centuries....true they can go for a walk in the the forresst if they were to so have a "condition", but i see a shrink who gives me synthetic drugs and i go for a walk in the maze of a concrete jungle instead.....!!!!
