Do you have OCD? Do you have thoughts you can't control that are violent, sexual, etc.? These thoughts are called "intrusive thoughts", some people who have OCD (such as myself) experience them. You don't have to have OCD to suffer from intusive thoughts people who suffer from ADD/ADHD, Manic Depression, and some other disorders sometimes experience intrusive thoughts. I hope this helped!

I had intrusive thoughts, but Abilify helped.
I do not have OCD, but try to think about something else, read a book, or talk to someone.
Hopefully that will help as well!

I have been thinking of this lately. I have had intrusive thoughts against some since I was a teenager. I still expirience them. The meds have helped, but once in a while they pop up. Glad to here I am not alone because they are desturbing and I know that I am not a bad person.

I've had intrusive thoughts before. Not fun.
I don't have OCD, but I always thought I was so weird when that happened. Now, I'm a little more stress free, and I occupy my time a little more so...all's a bit better.

arg! 01, I'm sorry, it's def. frustrating.. (((((((((01))))))))))

I don't have OCD, but I have had intrusive and often disturbing thoughts. They used to drive me insane, but they've lessened in intensity and I've been able to take them as what they are - passing, fading thoughts - and move on.

My psycologist has been teaching me methods of dealing with intrusive unpleasant thoughts...

a) relaxation
b) meditation - mindfulness
c) watch the thoughts from a distance and separate me from them

it seems to be helping
Thanks for this!

I have been diagnosed with OCD and have intrusive thoughts. I've learned to channel them into my stories as a way to cope.
Thanks for this!

I had a recurring/intrusive thoughts but they didn't "make sense" and I was able to ignore the content and look at "when" I had the thought, what else I was thinking/not thinking and try to work on what was triggering the thoughts.

I do have OCD also, and intrusive thoughts have been what plague my mind and hinder me from completing any conclusive daily tasks. Its been one of my biggest threats surrounding OCD,where unfortunately CBT and meds havnt really tackled this issue surrounding OCD as a whole crisis....I would have these erratic bursts of behaviour where I have even walked out on my therapist during one of many sessions due to the fact that I cant keep a composure on intrusive thoughts...sometimes they are so strong and overwhelming...that my concentration on any subject is uncerimoniously interupted by these thoughts...The way I tackle each one now is not to accept them as a dejavu of previous encounters(as they are sometimes constantly the same ) but to learn to deal with them as diffrent isolated issues and...as well as incorporating breathing techniques.....I totally empathize with you ,but dont despair the storm will eventually pass....Best wishes to you!!!!
