I know I have OCD but it has changed. I used to OCD on things being turned off and locked. I thought things have gotten better until I realized that I have a problem with picking the skin on certain parts of my body. What I don't understand is this: If i scratch myself until the skin comes off because it soothes me is this a form of OCD if I only do it when I am really upset?

It's kinda both, at the same time... I was confused too, since I do skin picking, but I also have self-injured as well and did both for different reasons but since self-injury is about causing intentional harm to yourself, then even if something is a result of OCD, it's also kinda a form of self injury. Sorry, talking in circles.

Maybe this will help you, if you identify with it at all? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dermatillomania
