I wish I could rip it out of my head and smash it with a hammer into tiny little pieces that could never be put back together. I wish I could do that. I wish it would GO AWAY.

Sorry for your discomfort! Don't blame yourself for not being able to stop the thoughts. And don't blame yourself for their content. Can you think of what has helped in the past? I hope you feel better soon!

I agree. Having intrusive thoughts takes away all joy. I am suffering. I am going to get back on my Anafranil, Risperadal, Klonopin combo. I also exercise and take Valarian as needed.

Roseliegh, just so you know you're not alone, my intrusive thoughts seem like they never want to go away, and then something I did calm them or just maybe they biologically clear your head for a while. I exercise all the time and my job is very busy, but my mind still races often.
I used to have the stupid turning the switch a number of times or getting songs stuck in my head. I thought it would go away with age, but some has gone away, but some new stuff has emerged. I have been on several meds, and now I went to a new psych who wants me to take paxil and hydroxizine instead of triavil, and valium when needed. I do take 5-HTP, a natural supplement for the seritonin uptake. But never take that if you are taking an SSRI. Seritonin Syndrome can develop. I think 5 HTP it has helped me but I still have the OCD. I was free of severe bad thoughts for a while or maybe they just came by for a little while. But this last bought has been like facing Mike Tyson in his prime. If you find the hammer that smashes them away into tiny pieces, can I borrow it? Chase, valerian is awesome. I even give it to my wife when she has trouble sleeping. |
