So I wasnt sure where to put this but I thought maybe this was the place. A little intro... I have been dealing with a severe depressive episode since mid-March. It seems as though that is pretty well under control at the moment.
Since I was 16 I have had to deal with obsessive and very intrusive thoughts about death, dying, and sui. Since this recent episode of depression I have realized that the thoughts escalated right before the crash. However I have had the thoughts including the escalation without falling into a depression. I am a bit scared...I want them to GO AWAY. how can I control this better? I am on Prozac which has been helping and it is a low dose. Help...I am so tired of the thoughts. Any ideas? |

After several months THOSE thoughts went away. Do you have a T? If not, is there any way you can get one? I found that talking with a T was very helpful indeed. I wasn't on any meds except a tranquilizer, so it wasn't meds that helped me it was just talking with my T. But that's only my experience. Yours may be different, so if your doctor (you're taking prozac so I assume you have some kind of doctor) thinks you should take other meds, then his/her wisdom is greater than mine and you should go with his/her advice. But do try and get an appointment with a T. Or call a "crisis line." Do you know what they are? They are groups of trained specialists who take telephone calls all day and all night from people having THOSE thoughts. They cost nothing and they're VERY helpful. In the US, the crisis line numbers are usually in first few pages of every telephone book. Or you can google "crisis line" on your computer. A crisis line is not a replacement for a T. They're two separate things. You call a crisis line when you're actually having THOSE thoughts, at any time of night or day. A T is someone you see only maybe once or twice a week, but with whom you talk about what's happening to you. The very best of luck to you, Melissa! Thanks. I do have a T she knows they happen 99% of the time. I also have a Pdoc. He is the one who gave me the prozac for these thoughts. I will tell T when I see her on Wednesday that they are intensifying. I feel like this is never gonna end...I just want it to STOP. I want to get on with my life and not have to deal with these anymore. I have been doing so well in terms of the depression but the stupid thoughts just keep on!!! Sorry just a bit frustrated.

let us know how it goes, melisssa, with T. it is good youre willing to talk with her about it. in my mind things can get out of proportion if i dont talk about it. i'm glad u posted 2. we're here for u.
