I'm being treated for depression and have been subscribed prozac (which isn't working) but i wondered if it could possibly be confused with ocpd? a close friend came to me and said she thinks its that and showed me a page on it and it was scary how well my personality matched with it, and it said it can cause a "depressive episode" so maybe i do have depression, but caused by ocpd? i am an utter perfections who will not accept any help and will not stop until it is perfect. Everyone knows me as being like this and make a joke about it, but for me it seriously effects me, i can get so unbelievably upset or angry because of it. i have unbelievably his standards that i feel like nobody else can live up to. Anyway, i didn't no whether it IS possible to be diagnosed with depression when you have ocpd? is it worth mentioning to my pdoc/ psych nurse? also, is there a certain age where it would start to become apparent? Im only 16 is it even possible that i have it?

I wonder the same thing for me, I was diagnosed with depression too, but I seem to have more of the traits of OCD than depression. I'm also on Prozac and it does help with OCD, it's still there but isn't quite as bad as it was.
