Hello, I'm Hana, I'm new. I have Trich, just moved to Canada and I have no one to talk to about my problem. I've tried therapy but it hasn't worked. No one except a few people have known I've had Trick, or know that I still have trich, as i've had it my whole life.
life is very stressful, would like someone with similar situations to talk and befriend ![]() |

I don't have it, I only have issues with depression and SI, but if you want to talk I'd be glad to

Hi Meep (awesome name btw) Welcome to PsychCentral.
Im really sorry your going through this - i developed trich a while ago which slowly morphed somehow into obsessive skin picking. If therapy hasn't worked have you asked if there is another treatment programme you can be put on or if theres another team you can be referred too? Never give up - there are so many people out there willing to help its simply a case of finding them. What about local support groups? Presuming you drive would you be happy to travel to attend groups or support meetings? Remember knowledge is power - know your rights and do as much research as possible. At least then if your search is unsuccessful you know you've tried everything in your power - and hey, you've always got us ![]() |

Thanks bb2023 but I've tried visiting a doctor b4, and it worked till I moved to Canada. I don't drive but I don't want to nag my parents, they have to drive me around enough and i think my mum is equally as depressed

Could you perhaps contact your old doctor and see if they are able to recommend any clinics in Canada? this happened to me when i moved, my doctor wasn't able to tell me specifically where to go but he signposted me to the main organisation in that area and from there i sought treatment. As for your mum, im sorry she seems poorly too. Have you ever spoke about to her about this? You don't need to say anything specific but she might like to hear that your there for her too and are available to talk to her if she needs too. As for the trich i would suggest sitting down with both your parents anyway and explaining that you are really struggling with your illness and want to move forward in your life but feel you aren't able too unless you seek the appropriate treatment. Have you set yourself up with a doctor in Canada yet? surely they would be able to refer you or suggest somewhere appropriate? Good luck and keep trying ![]() |
