Hi all
So I thought I'd get input from people in the know. I feel pretty ridiculous about the whole thing.... I think it was about 3 weeks ago that I realized it feels really, really good to pull out my hairs and play with them between my fingers. I started out only pulling out kinky/coarse hairs (damaged from color/bleach). I searched my head until finding a suitable hair and got all excited and pulled it out, played with it until I got tired of that hair and went to search for a "better" hair to play with. I'd do this until my arms got too tired to continue. Maybe 20-30 hairs at a time? I'd say average 5-10 times a day... I ran out of frizzy hairs but I keep looking. I started plucking less-ideal (not as rough/coarse texture) hairs but it doesn't "work" right and it's frustrating. I also find myself pulling them without noticing (well, other people notice and bring it to my attention). And when I think about how "stress relieving/exciting" it was to find a perfect frizzy hair and pull it, I can't seem to help going searching again. So. I've always been a nail biter/skin picker but these seem to be habits not compulsions....someone who has trich can you tell me what this sounds like to you? Thanks.

Sounds like trich to me. I do the same thing, looking for the right hair. It can be maddening. Try to replace pulling your hair with something else. I've been crocheting, but holding on to dental floss works too.
