I'm a perfectionist. Every moment, I compare myself to an ideal alter ego. This hampers my normal functioning.

Is there a way out?

Hey, sanjay! Actually I am wondering if you aren't trying to be perfect to make your parents happy. Yes, we might make a 90 on a test and think, "I should have made a 100." But if we did the best we could, then we need to be happy with that, I think.

You might want to talk to a school counselor about this issue. You are making yourself miserable, I'm sure, trying to measure up to an unrealistic view. Okay?
Thanks for this!

Thanks for replying.

I'm sure you are right. I'm undergoing treatment for OCD. I'm under medication. But still I cannot stop myself at just 90%. You are right to say I want to live up my parents' expectations. I've read books. I've read material online. But I still feel incomplete. I just cannot live with the fact that my life is not perfect.
