I know this won't work for many, but it helps me out. I put shiny nail polish on my fingernails and pick that off instead. It doesn't prevent nail picking, but I've drastically brought it down. Just thought I'd share.

Actually I've used that method too and it works really well only I'm not aloud top wear it most of the time.

I wonder if that is what my grandpa was doing when he started wearing bright red nail polish. We always thought it was from his early onset Alzheimers.
