Just a disclaimer: This is NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT of any sort. I'm not advertising for any particular business, I'm just sharing a new permanent makeup technique I've discovered. I don't have eyebrows (due to trich) and I am very seriously considering this form of permanent makeup to help my self-image and confidence.

I haven't posted on here in a good while, but I suffer from trichotillomania (among other things, including BPD, mild OCD, anxiety, lupus, alcoholism - I hit the genetic lottery for mental and physical illness...anyway...) but I am currently looking into a newer technique of permanent makeup that in some areas is referred to as "eyebrow embroidery" and in others as "3d eyebrow permanent makeup". A friend of mine referred me to someone who does this procedure and I was quoted about 150 USD per hour and that it usually takes about an hour and a half.

Anyway, this form of permanent eyebrow tattoo looks very natural because instead of just shading the eyebrow area with color, they actually draw individual lines of color, emulating individual eyebrow hairs! I believe most professionals that offer this service can cater the shape and style (and color) to the client's preference.

I've attached a few links to related youtube videos that demonstrate the technique (and variations of it). It can be hard to find a professional that offers this service, but it doesn't hurt to look.

Also worthy of noting, I do believe that there have been advancements in permanent makeup techniques for permanent eyeliner, as well - which I may consider in the future, after having my eyebrows done (my eyebrows have never fully grown back, and while my eyelashes are not as thick as they used to be, they are still "there" enough for me to not feel that permanent eyeliner is immediately and/or urgently necessary).

If I get this procedure done (which is very likely) I will definitely make a post about my experience, the procedure, before & after pics, and how satisfied I am with it.

(post edited after adding another video ^_^ )

Hi TheMajor - I just tried the first link on your list - but once I clicked that link, and the new screen appeared - then the screen informed me that my computer was going to be shut down/turned off due to some kind of an error. Wonder what happened?

Sounds interesting - eyebrow embroidery.

That's odd. Well, I dunno, try searching on youtube for videos with the words "eyebrow embroidery", "3d permanent makeup", "hair/hairline stroke eyebrow tattoo", etc...I think it has different names in different regions, but they're all more or less the same thing, kinda.

I'm definitely getting it because my b/f offered to pay for it (he knows how self-conscious I am about my lack of eyebrows and he wants me to feel more confident and less insecure <3), but we have some bills to pay right now, so it may be a while before I get it done, lol.
