Ok, so I am pretty sure that I am dealing with OCD. I have a fear of being a crimminal or doing things that are really horrible (and then not knowing). I have never done anything illegal or terrible, I don't want to and never would, but sometimes I will obsess about the possbility that I did something wrong without knowing it, when I was actually doing something else, and then I will think back and wonder "what if this happened?" Does anyone else deal with this, or know what I can do to stop this? (I take
Cipralex for depression and anxiety) Besides this fear, I also deal with other intrusive thoughts, checking, etc.

EglantineRose, Have you been diagnosed by a doctor as having OCD? I know SRI's combined with therapy can be helpful.

Hi. I have not been diagnosed by a doctor with having OCD specifically (I have been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, but a lot of the fears I have aren't really fears about daily life, they are more irrational) but OCD is in my family (I have a sibling who has it and agrees that I likely do, we have some common fears) and a lot of my symptoms are symptoms of OCD (like checking, racing/intrusive thoughts, etc). I am taking Cipralex for depression and anxiety and I go to counseling usually once per week, but i'm still not seeing as much improvement in the way that I feel as I would like to. Thank you for the suggestions, though.

EglantineRose, Maybe you need to have your dosage of Cipralex changed or try another anti-depressant? If you don't feel the meds are working, talk with your doctor. I went through many before they found one that was effective.

Thank you for your suggestions. I think I am going to ask my doctor if I can increase the dose of the Cipralex for now. Since I don't have an
official diagnosis and I am going through a process (which might take months) of getting an assessment done, I think that might be easier.

EglantineRose, Best of luck when you see your doctor. Sometimes they increase the meds. Other times they may add another med to what you are currently taking or just try something different all together.
