So, I'm pretty sure I have OCD. I haven't been officially diagnosed, but I'm going to a therapist by the end of the summer and I am pretty sure I have it.

Anyway, its seriously dreadful.

And I can't STAND when people say, "haha I'm so ocd about this..." or say, "What are you ocd over?"

They say it so casually and it just infuriates me. No. You don't have OCD. you're a human with preference.

What I am PRETTY sure is OCD for me, has made me suicidal. And I can't stand when people talk about mental illness like its something silly or that EVERYONE has it. cause if I told my friend I had OCD they'd laugh and say "over what? I can't stand when my foods touch on a plate!" Like ugh.

Angers me.

Hello, Emma8432. I am sorry this is happening to you. I really do not know what to say. Seeing a therapist is a good step.

I wish you well.

You can't change how others feel or express their opinion. You can disagree with them in the immediate reply. But when you know the other person doesn't get the seriousness and trivialize like anything, you may conclude that he/she had not been in a position to properly figure out the nuances of OCD. Their inexperience and lack of knowledge get disclosed, nothing else.
