I know that I have a particular form of OCD called Guilt OCD which, obviously, the motivation is guilt. Not wanting to be blamed for things, or thinking that your inaction will lead to someone getting hurt.

In my case, I am obsessed with doors, locks and switches.

I know that the door thing came from keeping the cat out of the pantry so it didn't die...we don't have a cat anymore. I am extremely obsessive about fridges because I don't want food to go off (and me to be blamed)
Locks because I don't want someone stealing my partner's stuff (and me to be blamed)
Switches is a funny one because I am convinced that the house will burst into flames as soon as I am out of sight.

I have seen a counsellor about it and go to a group but it hasn't helped.
I have always been the one who took the blame for everything, including my assaults.
It has been worse since getting off my meds but I had to get off them.

I'm hoping someone here can empathise and help.

Hi, and welcome! I can understand guilt, because I was always blamed when things went wrong.

I am wondering how old you are? Somehow I think that might make a difference.

Almost 25.
Being blamed is my button. I fly off the handle if it is even mentioned that I am responsible for something I am convinced I didn't do.
