I' m in a social group on this site and enjoy the privacy of basically knowing the group is limited to people who are invited, and that there is a moderator.
I wondered if there are enough people interested in hoarding, chronic disorganization, hoarding tendencies like trouble getting rid of things and over acquiring, to have a social group. I think I would want to have it moderated to make sure that the group was safe from people who think we should just get over it, that we are lazy or dirty people. The other group I'm in is similar to a forum , but we feel safe sharing more personal and complicated stories etc. Post here if you are interested or if there is already something on psych central that I am missing.

I would be interested. I haven't quite gotten the hang of the best way to use the social groups, though.

Ditto. There is the cleaning and decluttering thread under goal setting. Nobody has ever said to get over it. The thread has been helping me.

Yeah, I find that reading that other people are making progress makes me feel like doing something also, even when I really don't.

I like that cleaning and decluttering thread too . What I like about the social group forum is that I feel like I know who is reading. The conversation also gets divided up into topics too rather than being one long thread.

My H is a hoarder but I'm not much better, and feel overwhelmed and powerless to throw things out. I'd be interested in a social group to discuss feelings.

So how do i remember to go to the social forum? Right now i cycle between "my profile" which brings up threads i posted to, "new posts", and the psychotherapy forum which is pretty much my home page. Will social forum posts show up under "my profile" or will i have to pull up the index to all the forums, scroll down, etc.

Okay - answer to my own question!! The button "quick links" has one for social groups. I guess i can add that to my repertoire!! Count me in!

Eta - should we just restart the flylady social group?

I'm interested too, but not sure how easy it is to access the full site on my phone if I have to do that. I avoid it as much as I can lol.
Thanks for this!
