I was doing good, and the hair was growing again, but last night was stressful for me, (Emetophobia), and then my AP Exam is next week.

Last school year, I took my first AP Exam and I failed it, but this year I have tried harder and I understand History better.
Emetophobia has made me more paranoid, which increased OCD. I notice the more stressed I am, the more I want to pull my hair.

Does an urge have a ''tickle'' or weird feeling in your scalp when you think about it?

Not sure from personal experience. There are many posts at Psych Central - Trusted mental health, depression, bipolar, ADHD & psychology information. search for the term Emetophobia

Yes, I feel sensations on my scalp that urge me to start picking or pulling. Yesterday I was doing a little pulling. Trying not to. I think allergies might be causing the sensations this time of year.

I don't even think about it, that's what's kind of hard for me, I'm doing it before I even think about it.

I do that too though. But it's gotten a lot better in the past year than it was all my life. I hope it will get better for you as well.

It kind of does, but for me it was more of an odd compulsion to pull. Stress was huge factor for me also, but over the past two years I have been doing very well with not pulling my hair due to relaxation techniques I used, like taking deep breaths when I felt the urge or if I was just sitting and doing nothing and I felt the urge to pull, I would doodle or distract myself in another way. I know this sounds really silly, but if you are alone and in a situation where you might want to pull wear a hat and tuck your hair into the hat after putting it into a ponytail, or use band aids On your fingers so the hair slips through them.

I hope this helps, as I know how hard it is to talk to non-trich people about having trich; they just don't understand the compulsions to rip your hair out.(when I put it that way it sounds bad doesn't it ) Honestly, I don't either sometimes. I guess it just comes over us?

Lots of good wishes and prayers,

A Friend
