Is running your fingers through your hair for hours to get rid of loose hairs, and possibly pulling them out at the same time considered trichotillomania? I do this everyday and my mom and siblings have to tell me to stop. I can't stand loose hair falling on my clothes. I am sensitive to loose hair on my skin and want that off of me and in order to prevent that, I run my fingers through my hair for a long time. If it's not trichotillomania, would it be under OCD? I believe I have a mild case of OCD also. Talking to pdoc about that at the moment (OCD). Thanks for you replies.

It's really difficult to say with certainty. One of the key points for diagnosis is that hair loss is noticeable. Hopefully your doctor will have better answers once you've been evaluated and had time to talk.
