I have heard of people being diagnosed with OCD with just having obsessions. In my opinion though that would be GAD and not OCD but....

If you have both obsessions and little compulsions you could be on a milder scale. Of course, only a mental health professional can tell you what you have and don't have.

Also, is your compulsion for checking emails for something like because I didn't write my email perfectly/I probably made a mistake and I will be fired from my job and/or I check to see if I have emails all the time because if I didn't, I could miss an email saying the world is exploding or something like that idk? Because those thoughts and that compulsion could most likely meet the criteria of OCD. Again, check with a professional.

Also, it says you are diagnosed with OCD in your signature. Is it because you had a professional diagnose you? If so, are you asking people from here for reassurance? Sorry if this seems invasive. That was not the point. I hope this helps you though .

my therapist told me she suspected ocd because of my obsessions...

i am just trying to learn more about ocd so i can better understand it, other peoples experience

i am constantly checking my email for example...
i have things repeat themselves in my mind... numbers.... words... phrases...

i have a mixture of diagnosis so they are fighting back and forth... some days im afflicted more with anxiety and some days im fine... sometimes its more one thing than the other, im just trying to learn to identify...

im just trying to learn more about myself...

Okay. As I asked before, why are you constantly checking your email? Look at previous post for some examples of why it could be OCD with the email checking thingy.

I have never associated email checking with OCD, but hey, I'm not professional so who am I to know?

The numbers, words, and phrases thing seems more common. Though some people say pure-O OCD, I believe that they probably have compulsions they do mentally. For me, I have to tell myself stop it several times when I have a negative thought come up. I probably look so weird in public . My more severe case of me thinking stop several times is covering my ears, and shaking my head.I may even rock back and forth until the obsession is gone!

Not diagnosed with OCD (yet), I know that I have checking/rechecking, and orderliness/perfectionism. I have to check what I write over several time over before I can submit what I need to. I need to check locks too. With orderliness/perfectionism, I need to make sure everything is straight and spaced evenly and other stuff like that. That one is getting worse because of working at a place where we need to stock items up . I also have to do things a certain number of times like volume of TV has to be on a number I like, I have to shuffle cards 7 times, I need to push the handle for the paper towels 3 or 5 times. This my experience of my OCD symptoms. Hope to get diagnosed in September. One step closer to my goal to know what I need to work on .

Sorry that happens to you. I know my mood can shifted from being really anxious to really depressed, to being really happy, and much more. There is no such thing as an "one-size-fits-all" category .

Hope this post helped you discover this more .
Thanks for this!

Maybe then. Not sure.

To be honest, it doesn't matter on the label, but the treatment. The label is there to provide the right treatment.

ocd? ocd? ocd? ocd? ocd?
