So I just got a tattoo and in a few days its going to start to scab up, and ALWAYS pick ALL my scabs no matter what and I can't stop myself from doing it, but with this one if I pick at it the tattoo won't stay and it will look really bad. Does anyone have any ideas on how not to pick at it consciously or unconsciously? Thanks

Hello confuseandstrange: I'm afraid I don't really have allot to suggest here. But I saw that no one had replied to your Thread. So I thought I would. Things that come to my mind, with regard to this, are things such as: keep your fingernails cut as short as possible. Also, could you bandage, or in some other way, wrap the area so you can't get at it? Cover the area with clothing... Wear mittens... ? Anything to make it not possible to not use your fingers to pick at the scabs. I know how difficult it can be to work around these types of habits. I have had, & continue to have, some of them myself. The other thing I do sometimes, is simply to go do something else when I catch myself starting to engage in this type of nervous habit. Good luck with this...
