Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has tried TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) for OCD? If you have, could you share your experience with it? Also, did they tell you what part of your brain they aimed at?

I am not able to eat or take medication consistently because of my OCD, so I was thinking of trying TMS ...

Thank you,
OCDabject

I've never heard of it. Good luck with your pursuit of wellness. ((HUGS))

I have gone to one of the centers that offers TMS treatments here in Florida and filled out the paperwork in order for medicare to cover the costs. I will be starting within a few weeks. It has proven successful in 80% of patients who tried it.
Go onto You tube and you will find so much information about it. Type in "Neurostar' and your zipcode to find out if there is a location near where you live. The best of luck to you.

80% sounds incredibly -- how should I say this.. well, not accurate. I highly recommend reading published medical studies on these treatments so you have an accurate depiction of what to expect. I think a lot of these private (especially American) companies like to beef up their efficacy statistics so that they can bring in that CHEDDAR CHEESE to PAPPI, if you get my drift.

I have talked to multiple people online who have had TMS and for some it did nothing, others it helped a bit at first and then it wore off -- but I never heard of any fantastic results personally.

Don't let that get you down, try it, see how you feel and report back with your results. More data, more knowledge!

Good luck.
