When I was a teen in high school I used to walk and touch with both hands the sides of the wall. It was like I was using the walls for a feeling of reassurance. It was as if I needed to touch them to feel a sense of some kind of structure. I was diagnosed with OCD by a pdoc and Tourettes by a neuro.

Hello mugwort2: I don't really know the answer to this. However, I noticed no one had replied to your post. So I thought I would. I suppose touching the wall with both hands as you walked could be related to your OCD diagnosis. I don't know how it could be related to Tourette's. But then I'm certainly no expert with regard to these sorts of things. This would may be something that would be best discussed with your pdoc or neurologist if you still see either of them.

Well I'm grateful you replied. I agree I need to talk to my pdoc or neuro for this.

Honestly, it sounds as though you answered your own question.

It sounds like something somewhat similar to a compulsion I have where I tap my pinkies on my thighs (three taps right, three taps left, repeat the cycle, and always stop the cycle after left)? So I'd be leaning toward saying OCD? Mind, I don't have Tourettes so I can't easily comment on that though!
