Hi! So, I have trichotillomania. I have only been pulling for about 6 months, but I have lost about 2/3 of my hair! I have been able to hide it with a ponytail with a headband over it, but now I can seem to find a way to put it up without a few showing patches in the back. I have hair growing back on top thatś not as much of a problem but I have hair missing on the sides, and the hair that is intact is around the bottom of my head all around where my hair is. How do I hide this? Iḿ kind of desparate.

I have alopecia areata and I tie scarves around my head, or wear a cap. You might try it - it might also make it more difficult to pull because your hair isn't as accessible.

I have had trich since I was 16 and am now 35. During what I call the good phases I am able to put my hair up and use bobby pins where needed but honestly prepare yourself for not being able to hide it. The best way to hide it is using wigs. I have a Jon Renau wig which is really nice and was just under $200. Insurance companies sometimes as well will help pay for a wig. Their are some real great sites for wigs. Wigs by Patty are really nice.
She has a bunch of videos that show the different wigs and how to put them on properly and such. Wigs aren't what they use to be so don't think the worst when you hear wig. Some are out right beautiful. Take a look around at the different ones. If you end up getting one just make sure it has a Mono Top. That means it is see through on the top and it looks natural.
